Please spread the word about the East End ‘Bridges to Art’ project happening in our neighbourhood.
East End “Bridges to Art” was initiated by local City Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30) who approached StreetARToronto (StART) with the idea of painting a series of murals on the four rail bridges in the Carlaw-Dundas area as part of the Carlaw Dundas Community Initiative. The project quickly grew to cover all of the rail bridges in Ward 30 – nine in total. I spoke with consultants Bespoke Cultural Collective specifically about the Carlaw-Gerrard bridge and the Jones Avenue bridge.
The focus of Bespoke’s work is to carry out a robust community engagement process that will inform integrated artistic themes, which this year will result in two new art commissions along the underpass.
They would like your help in this project. One way is to complete their survey. Here is the link for the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EastEndBridgestoArt
To further input on this process, we have two community engagement workshops planned in May, and the organizers would like to invite to invite our community to attend:
